Painting People on the Beach - Part 1

What do you do when you love painting and you love the beach?

You paint the beach!

I've done so many seascape paintings but mostly, the focus has been on the beach itself and quite often there haven't been any people in the paintings at all.

As part of the"paint smaller more often" strategy, I've started working on some paintings of people on the beach, where the person is more of a focus.

Here's the latest, a small 10 x 10cm painting in acrylic. I created this using a photo I took at Gunnamatta Bay last summer. It was a super sunny day and I took the photo deliberately to use as a reference photo for painting (although I didn't intend to take so long to get to it!).

In the photo, the woman had a child walking next to her and there were other kids in the background. However, I liked the idea of the woman being alone, soaking up the day without any other responsibilities.....

If you are interested in purchasing this or any other painting or have any questions regarding my art, please contact me directly.

Perhaps you have a photo you would like painted?
