New Series of Dreamy Landscapes

Most of my more realistic paintings are very controlled and precise, with straight lines and blocks of colour. This technique allows me to focus on colour and shapes and capture light too and I enjoy it immensely.

However, I regularly feel the need to break it up and get a little looser with the paint brush. It's the equivalent of standing up and stretching after a long spell at the desk!

I usually work on small pieces to fulfill this need but I've decided to work on some larger pieces and give my bigger brushes a workout. I have to tell you, it's therapeutic!

This is the most current piece, called Dreamscape Lands. I haven't called brushes-down on it yet, I need to sit with it a while before deciding if it's done, although I think I'll be calling it soon.

Measuring 50.8 x 76.2cm, it's an imagined landscape with vibrant turquoise and deep blue, combined with peachy coral musky goodness!
