In October 2024, I completed an artist in residence program with Ocean Stays in Yamba which is an absolutely glorious spot on the NSW north coast. Yamba has always held a spot in my heart but I hadn't been there for over 20 years so I was utterly thrilled when asked to not only go there, but to paint it! 
 
I created a series of Yamba paintings in this size and my collectors loved them, so I decided to make some more. 
 
This one is Afternoon Swim at Yamba Main Beach and shows the view of main beach from up on the hill, with shadows creeping across the path and encroaching on the beach. I used lovely bright colours to capture the contrast of the afternoon sun hitting the water while the long shadows show there's not much daylight left!
 
This size painting is perfect for a small wall or part of a gallery hang and could also work on a shelf or mantel. It's a great size for gifting, too, because it's an easy size to find a home for.
