Heading Home From the Beach is one of my favourite paintings to date!
I snapped a photo whilst on holidays and used it as a reference to create this painting which, for me, has a real summery vibe and evokes memories of drives home from the beach with my family. As a kid, we rode in the back of a '65 Holden. The seats were burning hot (as I imagine the steering wheel was), the windows were down (no air-con) and we were all covered in salt and sand, hot and thirsty as the cordial my mum had packed was long gone. Despite all of that, these are truly happy memories. And that's what this painting means to me :-)
 
Made with artist's quality acrylics on Italian cotton canvas and framed in raw oak, Heading Home From the Beach would make a wonderful addition to any art collection.
